First, a few Japanese fighting games: Phantom Breaker is coming out June 2nd on Xbox 360 in Japan. It’s kind of funny that Kurisu Makise is a guest character (see 1:14 in the PV), considering that we just watched Steins;Gate. Ougon Musoukyoku (the Umineko fighting game) is also coming out on the Japanese Xbox 360 (we all have one of those, right?). Then there’s Aquapazza, featuring characters from To Heart and Utawarerumono, and other series too.

Hey guys, sorry that one of these is a week late. I imagine there aren’t many who faithfully read the blog, so I just sort of got lazy and waited. And waited.

Now it’s coming up, though, just in time for the 4/20 post, too. This post will probably be a bit longer than my other ones just because of the greater volume of anime, but I’ll try to shorten my comments on each one. That way I can invite some of yours’.

Anyway, here we go.

It would probably be set in this kind of world.

So we talked. Apparently at our first showing we had Ranma 1/2 and some other shows. The second showing was a sketchy fansubber VHS with Yaoi hentai. Apparently the presidents then had just as bad taste as the ones today. Being in an anime club is suffering. Anyway, we might have a guest in the coming weeks, we’ll see. Updates on this story later as it develops.

The Colorado School of Mines Dance Dance Revolution tournament, hosted by the Anime Club, was yesterday.  Unfortunately, we were hidden away in Ballroom E, but we still had a good turnout I think: 8 people in the Heavy division and 7 people in Light.  Not everything went as originally planned.  The song list went from DDR Supernova 2 from the PS2 to all DDR songs to DDR and ITG to almost anything (Gee and World Is Mine heh).  Also, the Heavy tournament was changed to double elimination.  Still, I think (hope) everyone had a good time.  Results after the break…

Hiya, guys. I hope you enjoyed last night as much as I did. It’s almost like Gene planned it or something. In order to better help us recover from blacklisted anime night, we showed a bunch of good stuff tonight. It worked out beautifully. From the end of Ore Imo to Time of Eve, it was really something.

'I wonder if you can watch anime on these things.'

So, yeah, if you get the impression that I liked everything we showed last night, it’s because I did. Expect nothing but lavish praise in this week’s post. I thought last night was great, and if you didn’t (or only showed up for the pizza) you’re probably a terrorist.

Moving on, I’ll talk more about how awesome last night was.

So, the anime club had a carnival booth today.  It was meant to advertise the DDR Tournament this Friday, but I’m not sure how well we did in that respect…  But let me tell you, we ran a good booth.  Continue on to see just how good of a booth we ran. 😉

Finally, at long last, the true bad anime night has arrived. And what a groan-inducing night it was. This normally wouldn’t be a good thing, but we would expect nothing more from blacklisted anime night.

What this night's all about.

Boy, do I love bad anime.

Okay, no more messing around. We’re moving right on to my opinion.

Well it’s too bad that Mines no longer has Japanese classes anymore…  But, all hope is not lost!  I’m going to talk about some helpful tools if you are interested in learning on your own:

Hey, everyone. Last night went pretty damn well, I think. The movie was long, and felt long, but things were smooth when the computer wasn’t freaking out at some of the more taxing scenes.

Anyways, I’m sure it doesn’t beg explaining why this post is called Majou Shoujou night. There were so many damn magical girls, it was awesome. If you like magical girls, I mean. And I guess I don’t hate them. It seems like magical girls have been pretty popular among the anime club recently.

At least, these ones have been.

Actually, seeing Nanoha really makes me want OreImo Madoka to hurry up and stop being delayed. I know Chris had a theory that they’re altering the story to include less earthquakes and flooding, but my theory is the opposite. They like depressing people in Madoka, so if anything they’d want to add earthquakes and flooding, right? Right? Then people could, um, relate.

Anyway, I guess we didn’t show Madoka. We showed Meruru and Nanoha, so I guess I’ll get on with that.
