I sure do enjoy the leadership here at the Colorado School of Mines anime club. They’re obviously smart, handsome, and have excellent taste in anime. After all, they wouldn’t lead the club in the first place~! (●´∀`●)

Way less boring when Kirino is around! This would've made Madoka better for sure!

Obviously I think Kirino is awesome if you couldn’t tell, LOL!(@ ∀@) Ore Imo was the best anime ever and I’m glad it was featured a semester ago. Too bad no anime will ever compare to it (unless they release a season 2! OLOL)

The shows we watched were Guilty Crown, Persona 4, and Bakas and Tests, Summon the Beast! (season 2). We also watched Day[9] play Amnesia! He’s so fat! I’ll be sure to give unbiased and clear reviews of each of these because no one wants to read an unfair review from some short troll with a short attention span.

For you new freshmen, welcome! To you returning upper-classmen, welcome back! To the rest of you, put that gun down! You have so much to live for! It’s another great year of anime club to look forward to with more anime, more lack of sleep on Thursdays, and even more of me embarrassing myself in public. I’ve already changed the website banner to the show we’re featuring this semester, as well as had Matt print out the new ACTUAL banner we’ll be using this year; no more of the Naruto/Full Metal Panic. I think we’ll be keeping it for posterity or we’ll take it to cons or whatnot, I don’t really know.

If you are a freshman, this is most likely the poster that brought you here

The bottom part is an approximation because I actually wrote it in my last Vice President’s blood. It’s ok, Matt’s still alive everybody.

As you know, this club is not a culmination of ideas from a dream I had last summer involving brain-eating aliens and fields full of flowers. Rather, it was much like a research project involving a lot of reading between the lines and ignoring advice from everybody except Matt and Daniel. My line of logic is not through innovation, but rather through anticipation. To be frank, I pay close attention to how other people do things, and promise myself NEVER TO DO THEM. This is why I read blogs and browse 4chan, because a good anime club president SHOULD. I didn’t read many blogs, but I’ll link a few that I “liked.”

whoooaaaa in a good way that is

To the point, this blog post is going to be about some of the stuff I did that I sometimes dragged Matt along for that I feel was really good for a club, and hopefully educate some of you on how not to scare newcomers off, especially when Fall comes around and we have to bring more people in. Not that I’m worried about that, I just really liked what we did this year and thought you all should know about it! Mina baka…

The other name, obviously, is

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku Tachi wa Mada Shiranai

Which translates to “We Still do not Know the Name of the Flower we Saw that Day” which we then shorten to “Ano Hana” which translates to “dat flower.” Here’s a graph illustrating how little sense this makes:

Looks pretty conclusive to me

So we talked. Apparently at our first showing we had Ranma 1/2 and some other shows. The second showing was a sketchy fansubber VHS with Yaoi hentai. Apparently the presidents then had just as bad taste as the ones today. Being in an anime club is suffering. Anyway, we might have a guest in the coming weeks, we’ll see. Updates on this story later as it develops.

Having a father like Gendou must be really hard. He’s always getting into your business, checking the things you buy, and sometimes punches you in the face. Then, you’re expected to go to school and act like nothing’s wrong, that all these bumps and bruises came from falling down the stairs, and at the same time deal with trivial crap from your sister. On top of that, you have to fly a robot in order to protect the world and totally friendzone your childhood friend.

Sound familiar?

Yep, I’d hate my life if I was surrounded by beautiful women who beat me. Sounds like a real hell on Earth.

It’s hard to believe how far this series has gone since the first episode. Nothing like a little nightmare fuel to get a series off the ground and right into dark territory where no Mahou Shoujo dare tread. I don’t think I need to say this, considering the title, but if you haven’t been following Puella Magi Madoka Magica up until episode 8 I advise against continuing to read this article. There’ll be some nods to the circlejerk-fest over at 4chan following the discovery about most of their predictions regarding the series coming true. Let me just say that I’m glad we found out these theories were true by now, because if the series held out until the final episode guarding the backstory, the ending would’ve just been downright disappointing. Disappointing in a, “well, saw that coming. Madoka is predictable. Bad series is bad,” way.

After talking with Chaeha and Chris last night, I’ve lost a lot of sleep over some of the theories they came up with. Well, just one in particular. I put the pieces together while I was lying awake in my bed at 3 in the morning last night. Last spoiler warning here guys, don’t read if you haven’t seen up to 8.

So here’s the “analysis” and “conclusions” part of the ongoing OreImo showings. Hopefully I’ll be able to churn one of these out each weekend following the movie showings and such. Gee, it sure is hard sticking up for a crappy series trollface;

Anyway, Daniel’s post made me think of this:

Hey everybody, I just beat Dead Space 2 on Zealot. Seeker rifle, pulse rifle, and plasma cutter master race here. Definitely don’t recommend the javelin gun. Looks like I’m getting snowed in here, so since I can’t go outside (an activity I do so often) and I lost my hardcore account on chapter 5 (died on the part after the crypt) I thought I’d make a post here.

My Dead Waifu can't be the Marker!

Wanted to talk a bit about the coming weeks in anime club, as well as share a few theories I’ve read/heard about Madoka. I’ve also got an update on Wasabi Con. The club will be busy and active, I hope. For one thing, expect a lot more pictures like the one above. I’ve got a whole folder, after all.

It’s really hard to watch the anime this season. The one thing that I’m grateful for is the fact that despite their many, many faults, there are a number of things that bad anime has that really separates itself from good anime. I have no idea if this is something I can attribute to the industry in general, or if it really only applies to this season in particular. Time will tell.
